Legwarmers short skirt for hip hop dance costume?

What do you think of black pinstriped canvas sneakers, white legwarmers, short mini flare dark denim skirt and white tank for a hip hop dance costume for ladies in their mid 20's? (specifically leggings appropriateness and color choice). I want to use sneakers vs flats because I want the flexed foot moves to show up well, I'd appreciate thoughts in general and especially from other dancers/choreographers...

The sneakers and leggings are cool but i wouldnt do legwarmers b/c thats more of an 80's thing.
